What is the difference between PTO and PTA?
PTO is an organization autonomous and specific to Miller Elementary. We are not connected to other schools or organizations. No dues are paid on a local, state or national level. All decisions are made within our school; no outside bylaws are dictating our board, activities, or funds. PTA is a national organization, and a good one, but one that requires local, state and national dues, specific requirements for board positions, approvals for projects, and so forth. PTO works best for the parents at Miller Elementary at this time because we are in control of our funds and our dues low. Parents have the final say in how to support our students, staff, and school.

May 7-11 is Teacher Appreciation Week!
 Baseball Themed “LINE UP” 

Monday - “FAN MAIL”- Bring your teacher a handwritten note or card on this day, sharing with them why they are special. Jump start our week by wearing your favorite team’s baseball tee and cap.

Tuesday - “TRADING CARDS”- Bring your teacher a Gift Card to show your appreciation. Also, dress as Paparazzi and capture the perfect photo!

Wednesday - “CONCESSION STANDS”- Save your teacher a trip to the concession stand; bring your teacher a snack (Candy, Popcorn, Treats, Etc.). Today have fun dressing as a vendor; wear red, white, & blue!

Thursday - “EQUIPMENT”- Help your teacher stock up on necessary equipment for the classroom with fun colored pens, sharpies, expo markers, glue sticks, etc. Join the team & wear your baseball uniform!

Friday - “HOME RUN”- Show your appreciation any unique way you like to help your teacher make that Home Run! Dress up as a fan!
