What
is the difference between PTO and PTA?
PTO is an organization
autonomous and specific to Miller Elementary. We are not
connected to other schools or organizations. No dues are paid on
a local, state or national level. All decisions are made within
our school; no outside bylaws are dictating our board,
activities, or funds. PTA is a national organization, and a good
one, but one that requires local, state and national dues,
specific requirements for board positions, approvals for
projects, and so forth. PTO works best for the parents at Miller
Elementary at this time because we are in control of our funds and our dues
low. Parents have the final say in how to support our
students, staff, and school.

In the mornings students and faculty are
welcomed by and amazing group of fathers,
grandfathers, uncles and big brothers who stand
at the bus and car lines to greet the students.
It is truly a heartwarming thing to see!
The men are so gracious and welcoming. If you
